Since then Yuriy has developed his own technique and approach to this ancient art.
He moved to Tbilisi in 2019 with his companion, Penelope Price. Their practice now includes Georgian motifs as well as Central Asian patterns.
At Block Printers Tbilisi we use natural silks, linen and cotton. The natural dyes are made from walnuts, pomegranates, onions, beetroot, cabbage, flowers etc. The wooden stamps are carved from walnut and linden wood. Everything we do is done by hand.
We also work with fashion and homeware designers to create unique items. Read more about Yuriy's work.
